SWOTPal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by ElevenApril. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SWOTPal website (swotpal.com) and the SWOTPal iOS application (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Our Privacy Principles

  • Minimal Collection — We only collect information necessary to provide and improve the Service.

  • User Control — You can access, export, or delete your data at any time.
  • Security First — Your data is protected with industry-standard encryption and security measures.

Information You Provide

  • Account Information — Email address, display name, and avatar when you register via email or third-party OAuth (Google, Apple).
  • SWOT Analysis Content — The text, data, and files you upload or input to generate SWOT analyses.
  • Payment Information — When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. We receive a transaction ID, plan details, and billing email from Stripe.
  • Support Communications — Messages you send to our support team.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data — Pages visited, features used, timestamps, and general interaction patterns (via Vercel Analytics and PostHog). This data is anonymized and aggregated.
  • Device & Browser Info — Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preference.
  • IP Address — Used for security, fraud prevention, and approximate geolocation (country level).

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your precise GPS location.
  • We do not access your device contacts, camera, or microphone.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To generate AI-powered SWOT analyses based on your input.
  • To process subscriptions and manage your account.
  • To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, subscription updates).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve user experience.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.

4. AI-Generated Content

SWOTPal uses AI models (including OpenAI and Anthropic APIs) to generate SWOT analyses. When you submit content for analysis:

  • Your input is sent to our AI provider to generate the analysis.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models.
  • AI-generated content is stored in your account for your use.
  • You may delete any generated content at any time.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers — We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
    • Supabase — Authentication and database hosting
    • Stripe — Payment processing
    • Vercel — Website hosting and analytics
    • Resend — Transactional email delivery
    • OpenAI / Anthropic — AI analysis generation
  • Legal Requirements — If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business Transfer — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Data Security

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
  • Database access is restricted and monitored.
  • OAuth tokens are securely managed by Supabase Auth.
  • We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access — You can view your data in your account dashboard.
  • Export — You can export your SWOT analyses at any time.
  • Delete — You can delete individual analyses or your entire account.
  • Opt Out — You can opt out of non-essential emails via email preferences.
  • Cookies — You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies for:

  • Authentication — To keep you logged in across sessions.
  • Analytics — Anonymous usage tracking via Vercel Analytics and PostHog.
  • Preferences — To remember your language and theme settings.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.

10. Children's Privacy

SWOTPal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe) operate globally. By using SWOTPal, you consent to the transfer of your data to these providers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service. Your continued use of SWOTPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
