Popular Questions

What is SWOTPal?
SWOTPal is an AI-powered strategic analysis tool that generates professional SWOT, TOWS, and PESTLE analyses in seconds. Instead of spending hours researching and compiling analysis manually, you can upload a PDF, paste a URL, enter a LinkedIn profile, or type text — and SWOTPal's AI produces a structured, data-driven analysis. It's used by business professionals, consultants, MBA students, and anyone who needs strategic frameworks done fast and done well.
What plans does SWOTPal offer?
SWOTPal offers three paid plans, with quotas measured in Credits (each AI step in a Brief — SWOT, TOWS, scoring, report — consumes 1 Credit; a full Strategy Brief is ~5 Credits): (1) Premium ($7.99/month or $71.88/year, which is $5.99/month) — 100 Credits / month (~20 Strategy Briefs), TOWS matrix, PESTLE analysis, PDF export, and all input types; (2) Ultra ($19.99/month or $191.88/year, which is $15.99/month) — 500 Credits / month (~100 Strategy Briefs), all Premium features, plus priority support and higher rate limits; (3) Enterprise — custom limits, team seats, SSO on request, and dedicated onboarding (contact sales for pricing). Yearly plans include a 7-day free trial with 10 Credits (~2 Briefs). Our SWOT examples, industry templates, and blog articles are free to browse without an account.
How accurate is SWOTPal's AI analysis?
SWOTPal uses advanced AI models to generate analyses based on the input you provide. Accuracy depends on: (1) Input quality — a detailed annual report produces more specific insights than a company name alone; (2) Data recency — the AI's knowledge has a training cutoff, so very recent events may not be reflected; (3) Topic coverage — well-known companies and industries produce stronger analyses than very niche topics. We recommend reviewing and refining the AI output, especially for high-stakes presentations. The AI provides an excellent starting point that typically saves 2-3 hours of manual research.
Is SWOTPal free to use?
You can run 1 free Strategy Brief after signing up — enough to try the product on your own company. Beyond that, SWOTPal is a paid subscription: Premium from $7.99/month (100 Credits / ~20 Briefs per month) or Ultra from $19.99/month (500 Credits / ~100 Briefs per month). Yearly plans include a 7-day free trial with 10 Credits (~2 Briefs). Our company SWOT examples, industry templates, and blog articles are free to browse without an account. For ongoing use of SWOT generation with TOWS, PESTLE, and PDF export, subscribe to Premium or Ultra.
How do I export my analysis as PDF?
Open any saved analysis and click the "Export PDF" button in the top-right area. The PDF includes your complete SWOT analysis with color-coded quadrants, and TOWS/PESTLE sections if generated. The export is formatted for professional presentations and client deliverables. PDF export is available on Premium and Ultra plans.

Then click "Subscribe Yearly" or "Subscribe Monthly" on Premium or Ultra (or "Contact Sales" for Enterprise). On yearly, you can also click "or try 10 Credits free for 7 days" to start with the trial. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Refunds are not guaranteed. Partial billing periods are non-refundable by default, but we review refund requests on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances — email support@swotpal.com to ask. You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings > Subscription to prevent future charges; paid features stay active until the end of the current billing period.
What happens when I reach my monthly Credit limit?
When you hit your monthly limit, you'll see a prompt to upgrade. Premium subscribers (100 Credits / ~20 Briefs per month) can upgrade to Ultra (500 Credits / ~100 Briefs per month) for immediate access. Your limit resets on the same date each month based on when you first subscribed. Enterprise customers can request higher custom limits via Contact Sales.
Do you offer student or team discounts?
We don't currently offer separate student or team pricing, but our yearly billing saves ~25% compared to monthly pricing. The Premium plan at $5.99/month (billed yearly) is already affordable for most students and small teams. For enterprise or bulk licensing inquiries, please contact support@swotpal.com.

Using SWOTPal

Learn how to get the most out of SWOT, TOWS matrix, and PESTLE analyses. Understand each framework, best practices, and tips for actionable strategic insights.

What is a TOWS matrix and how does it work?
A TOWS matrix is an extension of SWOT analysis that maps your findings into four actionable strategy categories: (1) SO Strategies — use Strengths to capitalize on Opportunities; (2) WO Strategies — address Weaknesses by leveraging Opportunities; (3) ST Strategies — use Strengths to mitigate Threats; (4) WT Strategies — minimize Weaknesses and avoid Threats. SWOTPal automatically generates the TOWS matrix from your SWOT results, turning static analysis into actionable strategic recommendations. Available on Premium and Ultra plans.
What is PESTLE analysis?
PESTLE analysis examines six macro-environmental factors affecting an organization: Political (government policies, regulations), Economic (market conditions, inflation, exchange rates), Social (demographics, cultural trends), Technological (innovation, automation, R&D), Legal (employment law, consumer protection), and Environmental (sustainability, climate impact). SWOTPal generates PESTLE alongside SWOT to give you a comprehensive view of both internal factors (SWOT) and external environment (PESTLE). Available on Premium and Ultra plans.
Can I edit the AI-generated analysis?
Yes! After generation, you can edit any part of the analysis directly in the editor. Add, remove, or modify individual points in each SWOT quadrant. This is the recommended workflow: let AI generate the baseline, then refine with your domain expertise and specific knowledge. Your edits are saved automatically.
How do I analyze a PDF document?
Click "New Analysis" and select the PDF upload option. You can upload annual reports, research papers, business plans, or any PDF document. The AI reads the document content and generates a SWOT analysis based on the information found. For best results, use PDFs with text content (not scanned images). Maximum file size is 10MB.
Can I analyze a competitor's website by URL?
Yes! Enter any public URL when creating a new analysis. SWOTPal's AI will visit the page, analyze its content, and generate a SWOT analysis based on what it finds. This is especially useful for competitive analysis — paste a competitor's about page, product page, or investor relations page for targeted insights.
How do I use the LinkedIn to SWOT feature?
Enter a LinkedIn profile URL when creating a new analysis. The AI analyzes the professional profile and generates a personal SWOT analysis covering career strengths, skill gaps, growth opportunities, and professional threats. This is popular for career coaching, personal branding, and interview preparation. Note: only public LinkedIn profile information is analyzed.
Can I generate analysis in a different language than my input?
Yes! The input and output languages are independent. You can upload an English annual report and generate the analysis in Japanese, or paste a Chinese article and get the SWOT in English. Select your desired output language from the language dropdown before clicking Generate.

Can I export SWOTPal analyses to Notion?

Troubleshooting

Having issues with SWOTPal? Find quick solutions to common problems including login errors, analysis failures, export issues, and payment troubleshooting.

My analysis is taking too long to generate
Analysis typically completes in 15-30 seconds. If it's taking longer: (1) Check your internet connection; (2) Large PDF documents may take up to 60 seconds; (3) During peak hours, generation might be slightly slower. If the analysis hasn't completed after 2 minutes, try refreshing the page and generating again. If the issue persists, contact support@swotpal.com.
The AI generated incorrect or outdated information
AI analysis is based on the input you provide and the model's training data. To improve accuracy: (1) Provide specific, recent source material (URLs or PDFs) rather than just a company name; (2) Use the most recent annual report or company page for up-to-date information; (3) Always review and edit the AI output, especially for time-sensitive data like stock prices or quarterly results. Remember: AI is a starting point, not a final answer.
I can't upload my PDF file
Common PDF upload issues: (1) File too large — maximum size is 10MB. Try compressing the PDF first; (2) Scanned/image PDF — the AI needs text-based PDFs. If your PDF is a scanned document, convert it to text (OCR) first; (3) Password-protected PDF — remove the password before uploading; (4) Corrupted file — try re-downloading or re-exporting the PDF. If none of these apply, contact support with the error message.
I'm not receiving the password reset email
If you don't receive the reset email: (1) Check your spam/junk folder; (2) Make sure you entered the correct email address; (3) If you signed up with Google or Apple, you don't have a SWOTPal password — use those sign-in methods instead; (4) Wait 5 minutes and try again; (5) Check if your email provider blocks automated emails. If you still can't reset, email support@swotpal.com for manual assistance.
The analysis output is in the wrong language
Make sure you select the desired output language from the language dropdown BEFORE clicking Generate. The language setting is independent of your input language. If the analysis defaulted to the wrong language, you can regenerate it by selecting the correct language and clicking Generate again (this uses one Strategy Brief from your monthly quota).
My PDF export looks different from the screen
The PDF export is formatted for print and sharing, so layout may differ slightly from the on-screen view. If you notice significant issues: (1) Make sure your browser is up to date; (2) Try generating the PDF again; (3) Check that your analysis is fully loaded before exporting. For persistent formatting issues, please send a screenshot to support@swotpal.com.
